Professional Training Program (PTP)

Our Professional Training Program offers progressive classical ballet study for young dancers who want to develop strong technique, musicality and artistic expression. Classes build from preparatory foundations to more advanced work, with expectations appropriate to each level.

For families considering ballet for enjoyment, contact us to discuss suitable class options and the commitment involved.

PTP 0 · Preparatory Ballet · Ages 6–7

Students develop basic ballet positions, coordination and musical awareness through preparatory exercises at the barre and in the centre. Simple jumping combinations introduce rhythm and control as young dancers build confidence.

PTP 1 · Ballet Foundations · Ages 8–9

Students strengthen their ballet foundations through barre exercises, centre practice and allegro—jumping combinations. The focus is on clearer coordination, balance, musical timing and a growing understanding of classical technique.

PTP 2 · Developing Technique ·

Ages 10–11

Students continue to develop their barre and centre work, with more varied jumping combinations and greater attention to balance and coordination. Demi-pointe work—rising onto the balls of the feet—supports control and stability. Pointe preparation and progression are considered individually, in relation to readiness and training experience.

PTP 3 · Intermediate Development · Ages 12–14

Dancers refine their technique, balance and coordination through more developed centre work and increasingly demanding combinations. Artistic expression and musical phrasing receive greater attention. For students assessed as ready, pointe work progresses alongside their classical training.

PTP 4 · Advanced Development · Ages 15–19

Advanced students work towards greater technical consistency, stamina and artistic maturity through demanding classical combinations and repertoire. For dancers studying pointe, appropriate choreography is developed according to their preparation and level.

Conditioning for Ballet

Conditioning supports the strength, coordination and body awareness needed in ballet. Classes use floor-barre and exercise-ball work, with attention to alignment, control and the effective use of each dancer’s available turnout.

Conditioning is an integral part of the Professional Training Program and is required for enrolled PTP students.
